My First Impressions of IS101
So far I am enjoying IS101. Everything is simple and easy to follow and all of the assignments so far are not tedious work and teach me things that I can apply to other classes and the real world. One thing that I have never really done was organize my files and emails into various folders. One of the more helpful tools was from the first assignment which aided me in setting up folders and inbox rules so that everything is organized into it's respective folder. It makes checking my email much more convenient since I find myself struggling to find the right emails from time to time. I am looking forward to what other helpful tools and features that I will learn during this spring semester of IS101.

I absolutely agree with you. The skills that we have already learned in this course (one week in) has already helped with my other classes and life! I'm with you, ready to learn more tools and feature in this course!
ReplyDeleteThe great thing about some 101 classes is that a lot of what we learn is review and improvement of topics we're already familiar with!
ReplyDeleteA teacher/instructor who gives assignments that can help you in their class and in others is hard to come by. I'm glad a lot of the initial setup helped to get everything organized so we wouldn't be searching for things later on over the next few weeks. I'm happy that this IS101 class is helping to revive some of my skills, and teach me new ones!
ReplyDeleteIt's my first time learning about the rules for Outlook inbox. What an amazing find LOL. Will definitely be use a lot more in all my inbox not just for Outlook.
ReplyDeleteApplying the email rules is my first time doing this. It is a neat way to be very clean and organized person. I am eager to see what else this class has for me to learn!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like I've taken classes that have no real world application, however this class is one of few that I know will help me even when the semester is finished.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think we can pick up a lot of helpful tools in this class. I am similar to you, as I've only used general folders to manage my files and have already picked up some tips from the first lesson.
ReplyDeleteCleaning the email inbox and watching the emails go to their respective folders following the rules was very interesting. Though Professor Wu did the hand holding spending hours with me to get me familiarized, I end up wanting to explore more and use the software optimally.

ReplyDeleteThis was a big help to me as well, while I do enjoy organization, I've never been organized when it comes to my computer storage.
ReplyDeleteOrganizing and finding folders has always been a tough task for me in Windows 10, I hope to learn more in this class.
